Softing FOUNDATION Fieldbus
FOUNDATION Fieldbus | |
| The FOUNDATION fieldbus is a fieldbus standard oriented primarily on
the requirements of process automation. It is the most functionally
complete fieldbus solution for this area of application. The High Speed
Ethernet (HSE) specification expands FOUNDATION fieldbus to include an
Ethernet-based protocol variant which integrates harmoniously with the
overall architecture.

| FF-Starter Kit | |
| The FF Starter kit contains all that is necessary to set up a Fieldbus
Foundation Network with Link Master and field device. It is designed
specifically for developers who want integrate Foundation Fieldbus into
their products. The Kit can be used to set up, configure and monitor
Fieldbus networks. The package also includes an OPC Server and Client
Controls. This enables easy access to the Foundation Fieldbus network
via Visual Basic or VB Script. The Starter Kit is approved for lab use
only. For more information, please visit Softing FF-Starter Page
| Protocol Software | |
| As a manufacturer of process automation systems or devices, you want to
successfully serve the FOUNDATION fieldbus market. Therefore, the key
objective for you is to integrate the new technology into your existing
system as effectively and economically as possible. You are looking for
the ideal partner to support you in taking up this new challenge.
Together with you, we create a solution that fully meets your needs and
expectations. For more information, please visit Softing Protocol Software Page
| Device Integration | |
The new Fieldbus Kit (FBK) from Softing AG enables existing HART devices to be converted quickly and easily to FOUNDATION fieldbus H1 and PROFIBUS PA. To make it easier for HART device manufacturers to enter the fieldbus market, Softing's FBK offers a profitable alternative to conventional stack integration that is particularly well suited for small to medium quantities. The use of the same software architecture ensures investment security in case of a later change to classical stack integration on a separate platform. The required FBK schematics are available on request. For more information, please visit Softing Device Integration Page
| FFusb Interface | |
| Softing's FFusb interface offers just that; easy and direct access to field devices connected to FOUNDATION Fieldbus H1 networks. The PC or Notebook interface is based on the high-speed USB 2.0 solution. The FFusb is able to act as a "visitor" to H1 segments and, in this role, does not interfere with the running H1 process control system. A corresponding CommDTM allows for easy integration into FDT frame applications and compatible asset management systems. For more information, please visit Softing FFUsb Page | |
| FG-100 Gateway Family | |
The FG-100 fieldbus gateways is a new product family for the easy Ethernet connection of networks in automation technology. Acting as a gateway between host systems on the Ethernet and the local fieldbus, the FG-100 are important links for tasks like network configuration, device parameterization, diagnostics and operational data collection. All this can now be done directly from the PC workstation; being on site is no longer a necessity for running the plant. For more information, please visit Softing Gateway Page
| Device Engineering | |
OPC enables fast and secure access to data and information under Windows operating systems. As an industry-spanning, vendor-independent software interface, OPC minimizes connection and maintenance overheads. OPC from Softing relieves you of many engineering and commissioning tasks - and frees you to focus on your core activities. Mote than 1,000 clients and servers for data access applications and alarms and events applications have been developed based on Softing tools. | Configuration Tools
The FF/HSE Configurator allows the fast and easy configuration of FF devices for commissioning, service and support departments as well as for use in test laboratories. By importing device descriptions, automatically scanning the network for devices and offering comprehensive diagnostic functions, it provides valuable assistance in working with the FOUNDATION fieldbus.
