PROFINET or Gigabit-Ethernet?

With the new FLEXtra PROFINET switch from Helmholz is the solution the system manufacturers came up with. Communication can take place at the higher level with the industrial Ethernet, besides the field bus level with PROFINET.

With DIn the process the users now can decide which off the 16RJ45 ports are to used for PROFINET and giga Ethernet. The smallest control cabinets and sub-distributions due to the vertical cable approaches makes the FLEXtra PROFINET more suitable.

The PROFINET cables were guided directly by the switch into the cable channel. With a structured LED display is the switch for a clear status and diagnostic information completes the design. The switch is equipped with 100 Mbps and 1 Gbit/s ports which makes it suitable for both PROFINET traffic and the communication between the operating elements and various machine.

Advanced possibilities

FLEXtra PROFINET switch is also supported wit the management function, such as MRP (ring redundancy), VLAN (virtual LANs), SNMP, port mirroring, QoS/CoS mapping, SNTP, and extensive statistics. With 2 digital outputs and 4 digital inputs, as well as a detailed PROFINET EA image in the PLC, the status of the ports is monitored and controlled. It can be integrated with the engineering too.
