edgeGate makes data integration easier than ever before. The gateway supports the connection to PLC & CNC Controllers and uses the OPC UA standard for a simple and secure data integration into higher-level management systems, such as ERP, MES, or SCADA for new and existing plants.
In addition, edgeGate also offers MQTT Publisher/Subscriber functionality, enabling direct integration of machine data into private or public IoT cloud applications on the IT side. The generic MQTT implementation supports the use of many different cloud providers. Like the OPC UA standard, MQTT also supports various security mechanisms such as encrypted connections, certificates, and user authentication, thus contributing to a high level of data security.
To optimize security and performance in task-oriented environments, the edgeGate device comes equipped with three key applications: general device management, license management, and a communication interface.
With this functionality, edgeGate is a compact, secure, future-oriented, and proven gateway for data integration.
Overview
Access to existing PLC and CNC controller data
- Supports up to 20 connections for access to Simatic Siemens PLC, Allen-Bradley PLC, Siemens Sinumerik controllers, Fanuc CNC controller, Modbus TCP controller, or OPC UA machine data.
- Easy local and global access to field data and routing through firewalls.
- Protect investment through simple retrofit upgrades, as well as for modern controllers’ integration, without require modifying the running configuration in them.
- No PLC programming or dedicated PC required.

- Simple data transmission to an MQTT broker using the MQTT publisher functionality for local or cloud-based solutions.
