Softing has release PBpro USB which is the world’s smallest PROFIBUS master interface for PCs. It could easily fits on PROFIBUS connector housing with it’s size of a matchbox that could be easily stowed in any laptop bag which makes it a very convenient companion for mobile use.
PBpro USB is the ideal interface since it is much more faster to use USB high-speed for PC connection, it has a wide variety of task from the network configuration and device parameterization to plant maintenance and production data acquisition. To avoid circuit-induced reflection on the fieldbus signal, the interface must be connected directly to the device on the PROFIBUS target system.
It is also equipped on the software side with it’s scope of delivery which includes Windows drivers for XP to Windows 10, various programming examples, a communication DTM for FDT application and a PROFIBUS configurator with it’s commissioning function.
The interface is also compatible with it’s predecessor PROFlusb and can be used directly in any commercially available applications with it’s quick and easy integration of OPC Client applications it is possible using an optional PROFIBUS OPC Server.
